About Kathryn Papp, DVM

Dr. Kathryn Papp, DVM grew up around animals, competed on the AA' Circuits in the hunter/jumpers into her college years, and has always had a passion for anything living, breathing, and furry. She knew at a young age she wanted to be a veterinarian, and focused on her education early on. Those who know Dr. Papp, know her intelligence is astounding. She attended the University of Vermont, Tufts University in Mass., and graduated in 2008, from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph, in Ontario Canada. She has put her main focus on the Thoroughbred Racehorse Athlete. Often times, those horses have the highest demands expected, the toughest careers, and need the extra love, attention, and veterinary skill required to help them stay happy,
sound, healthy, and the best athlete they can be.
Dr. Papp has extensive experience with injuries, chronic pain, "mysterious lameness", and helping TB's when it comes time to retire, live long, happy, and successful lives in other careers. With her time spent on the top show circuits, jumpers, eventing, etc, Dr. Papp has the knowledge and experience required to give people an honest and accurate opinion on a horses prognosis, expected abilities or limitations, and responsible care. She always puts the horses well being first, and treats every horse she see's as if it is one of her own.

Dr. Papp has a farm in Cream Ridge, NJ where she has a wide range of personal animals. Young and old horses, foals, show horses, retired horses, horses she just grew so fond of she adopted herself at the end of their careers, mini's, birds, pigs, goats... you name it! It is NOT uncommon to see Dr. Papp driving around with a
newly rescued animal in the back of her jeep.

Dr. Papp is mainly based in Harrisburg, PA where she lives with her Husband Monti Neal Sims, a long time Trainer at Penn National, where generations of his family have also trained. His charm won over Dr. Papp in 2013, when she agreed to marry him (after asking ALL her animal's permission, we can assume). Neal is an avid horseman, animal lover, and accepts the fact that their bed will always have numerous pets squeezing in the middle at night.
