What Is Veterinary Telemedicine? Telemedicine has long been a part of human medicine—well before cell phones, even! Yet, for veterinary medicine, the movement was slower. Now, we all have advanced cameras right at our fingertips, so veterinary telemedicine can thrive. It saves you a trip to the vet while putting your mind at ease with quick feedback from your veterinarian for your horse or pet's general health and wellness questions, follow-ups, skin conditions, and other ailments that can be discussed virtually for our existing clients! Rather than calling the clinic phone with a question about your pet/horse, you can engage in a secure chat that allows for photos/videos to be shared within the chat, or when needed an actual video call to show your veterinarian exactly what’s concerning you. This gives us a thorough understanding of the situation, too, so we can offer you the very best advice. This service is not meant to replace emergency care. We have partnered with Anipanion for our Telemedicine services. You can visit their website to register, or download the app to your phone or tablet! |

Why do you need my credit card when I create the account? Is it secure?
Your credit card is stored securely through Stripe Payment Processing that has a full integration with Anipanion. Your credit card will be stored so that anytime you start a chat that is completed with Dr. Papp, your card is automatically charged at the END of a completed chat consult, based on the cost of the chat (see pricing above). You can view all payment history from your Account online or from the mobile app.
How do I schedule a Virtual Video Visit with Dr. Papp?
At this time, Dr. Papp is mostly offering Chat Only (texting) based consultations, which do not require any scheduling. Should Dr. Papp choose to do a Video Visit, she will communicate with you directly on initiating or scheduling that call. You can initiate a Chat (text-style) anytime!
What is a VCPR and Who Can Use This Service?
According to the AVMA, a VCPR (Veterinary Client Patient Relationship) is established after the veterinarian has physically examined the health of the pet within the past year, and must have a client-patient relationship with the pet/pet owner. The pet parent has agreed to follow the veterinarian’s instructions to care for their pet. The veterinarian will be available for follow up care, provide oversight of treatment, and will document all medical activities that have taken place in the pet’s medical record.
Can I get a prescription/refill from Dr. Papp during my consult?
Should Dr. Papp decide that medications need to be provided during your consult, she will work that out directly with you during the chat. She may point you to our online pharmacy/store to order your medications, prescriptions, and other supplies. { > Go to Our Online Pharmacy}
Is our chat saved anywhere so I can review it again?
Yes! From your account on the website (anipanion.com) or mobile app, you can view Past Consults by going to Chat > Chat History. The veterinary office also has your entire chat in their medical records stored in the cloud, to keep for their records.
Will I get a receipt for my payment?
Yes, you will receive an e-mail shortly after your chat consult ends with a copy of your receipt.
How do I update my credit card?
You can log into the anipanion website or mobile app, go to Settings, and Saved Cards to update your credit card information. We at the office do not have access to this information and cannot update your payment settings.
